If
“One monkey don’t stop the show”, as in Gillian Welch’s song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quvoI4bGXp4),
how could a Publican? Ain’t he even less than a monkey? How then could Jesus
Christ stop the show, since he’s even less than a publican?
But why would
anybody try to stop the show? What’s wrong about having a part in the show?
Nothing, except that in a show you choose your part, while in a play you
accept your part, which is given to you. But you may still choose between playing a
part in a show, which must go on, and playing a part in a play, which couldn’t
possibly end.
